HIPP applications open Oct. 5, information meeting to be held at Glendale this Saturday

Volunteers of America Texas (VOA Texas) will host informational sessions about the Home Improvement & Preservation Program (HIPP) from 10 a.m. to noon at the Glendale Shopping Center on Saturday, Sept. 12.
The HIPP Major Systems Repair Program (MSRP) provides qualified low- and moderate-income homeowners with assistance through a forgivable loan of up to $24,000 for necessary home repairs.
Those home repairs can include:
* Major systems: HVAC, electrical and plumbing repairs or replacements
* Accessibility repairs
* Roofing
To qualify, residents must own and live in a home located in the City of Dallas, have homeowners insurance and be current on their mortgage and property taxes. Household income must be below 80% of the area median income (AMI), and applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Applications will be accepted from Oct. 5 through Oct. 16. No applications can be submitted prior to Oct. 5.
